Currently Learning
Cross platform app development

As mobile usage continues to rise and tablets become more prevalent, it is important to know how to develop apps that target multiple devices and platforms. With that in mind, I am currently focusing on learning Visual Studio Tools for Apache Cordova, Intel XDK, Telerik AppBuilder and Xamarin.

AngularJS

Single Page Applications (SPA) have become very popular and in order to further my knowledge of SPA, I have been learning AngularJS, a popular JavaScript framework that can be used with HTML5 and CSS3 to build powerful SPA solutions.

Git VCS

While I have always been familiar with version control systems (VCS), I never took the time to learn it and put it to use. That is no longer the case as I now have a solid understanding of Git (a popular open source distributed VCS that is free) and know how to use it!

Community

Please expand each section for details.

Volunteering
I volunteer at my local Church and help out the community where possible.

I also volunteer with Fishers of Men, an organisation that serves the homeless as well as those battling various addictions.

I have a heart for serving others and am always willing to do so, as long as it doesn’t cause me to neglect my family and my responsibilities to those who depend on me.

Mentoring
I am a big believer in mentoring others, especially those who are younger than me. As such, I am always keen to walk alongside others who could use a mentor to help them in their life journey.
Social Media
When I am not at work or spending time with family or working on personal projects, you can often find me on various social media channels like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, sharing my knowledge, thoughts and insights, as well as helping others when I get the opportunity. I share this not to brag or boast, but to give you a better understanding about the kind of person I am.

I am always ready for a challenge. While I love getting my hands dirty, at this stage in my life and career, I yearn for an opportunity where I can lead, guide and mentor others to reach their full potential and positively affect the bottom line.

Until you sit down with me and we have a conversation face to face, you wouldn’t know me or the kind of person/professional I am. My sincere hope is that you will make time to connect with me.

Thank you.
