Would you like to join my team?

Updated (13/1/2014) – Previously, I had titled this post “I want to build a team” (still the permalink), but I realised that some may have considered that to be rude, rather than what it was intended to be, which is me making a bold statement with respect to a dream I have. Sorry if I inadvertently offended anyone πŸ™ This post is about inviting people into a partnership and the last thing I want to do is turn people off/away.

What’s this about?

I am looking to put together a team to work with me, to bring apps/solutions to life. Yes, it’s a startup/business that I’m wanting to build.

What’s the catch?

I don’t have the funds to pay you immediately for your time/skills/services, nor am I going to lie and tell you that my ideas are guaranteed money-makers. So, what’s in it for you? Well, if you do decide to join me, we will be in this together and will share in the success (or failure) that follows. I give you my word that you will be treated fairly and rewarded likewise. I haven’t considered any outside funding and while I’m not against it entirely, I’d rather not go down that path. This daring venture is for those who’re willing to invest their time and effort in the hopes of getting a return on their investment if/when the business takes off.

Why am I doing this?

I do believe in my ideas and I’m confident that if executed correctly, they will generate revenue, at which point, you will be rewarded for your trust, your time, your talent and your troubles. I have been pondering this for a long time and I need your help because I cannot do it on my own.

Who am I looking for?

I’m looking for a few good men/women πŸ™‚

I need someone who understands business more than I do so that when I share/detail out my ideas/vision, you can tell me if I’m on the right track or out of my mind.

I need someone who has a good working knowledge of web applications, responsive design and bare minimum, can code/develop in ASP.Net MVC and Web API and can navigate their way around Windows Azure. Additional skills/knowledge is always a bonus.

I need someone who can do Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps.

I need someone who can do Android and iOS apps.

I need someone who knows design/UI.

This is a stretch but I would also need a lawyer type.

Marketing is important but I haven’t mentioned it because I believe that smart use of social media can fill that gap. I could be wrong and change my mind later.

So, if you believe that you match one or more of the requirements I have listed above and are willing to take a risk/chance and invest yourself as a member of my team, please get in touch with me.

What action do I want you to take?

So, if you are based in Australia (preferably Brisbane) and are willing to trust me and take a chance, then please get in touch with me. If you are not in Australia but would still like to partner with me, do write to me and tell me why you would like to do so. I am willing to make exceptions.Β My email address is sri at srikanthnair dot com.

I’d be happy to connect with you in person and have a chat so you can ask me whatever you like and I will answer truthfully and honestly. This dream is very dear to my heart and I’m not taking it lightly and I hope you won’t either.

If nothing else, please share this with others you know and if there is some other way you think you can support and encourage me, please get in touch with me.

Thank you for reading.

I wrote this post because I don’t know how else to get the word out. Working full time and having a young family to look after, not to mention the other obligations/responsibilities I shoulder, getting out to startup/networking events has not been easy. If you can help spread the word, I would greatly appreciate it. I don’t know whether my ideas will make it or not, but what I do know is that if I don’t step out and take a chance, I will regret it and I don’t ever want to even think of an “I wish I had” statement. Β It’s now or never.

Thank Sri :)Thank Sri πŸ™‚
