How to add the Twitter follow button on your website

If you have a Twitter account and want your visitors to connect with you on there, provided you are active on there, then I recommend you add the Twitter follow button on your website.

Here’s how you do it.

  1. Open your browser and browse to https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons.

  2. I chose the Follow option and these are the options I get.

    Twitter02

Now, all you have to do is enter your Twitter handle in the User textbox, select whatever options you like (notice I chose the Large Button option) and then copy the code on the right, below the Follow button to whatever section of your website.

If you want your visitors to share content from your website on Twitter, you would choose the Share a link button in step 1.

If you want your visitors to tweet you from your website, then you would choose the Mention button in step 1.

Fairly straightforward stuff, but the payoff can be huge, as long as you are active on Twitter and sharing useful thoughts/insights/content on there. If you sell products and services, Twitter is a great way to engage with your customers and can be a great customer service tool.

If you have any questions or would like to know how you can best utilise Twitter and take advantage of it, whether you are a professional or an organisation, please get in touch with me. You can use the contact me page or find me on Twitter @SrikanthNairPro! 🙂
