Church is NOT perfect! What every new believer in Christ needs to know! Part 3

The Church is wonderful in many ways and by God’s grace; I pray you will experience genuine fellowship and form strong Christian friendships in Church.

No Church is perfect though! New believers need to be aware of this sad reality that Church may never be what they expect it to be or think it should be.

This will help you prepare yourself as you become part of your Church fellowship. When you experience some or all of the things that Paul admonished the Corinthian Church for, you will be able to better handle it by trusting and relying on Jesus more than giving up on Church or fellowship and being put off by it.

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6

Remember that God who started a good work in you is also working on every other believer that is a part of your Church, my Church and Churches everywhere.

These are the verses mentioned in the video.

I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.
1 Corinthians 1:10

You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men?
1 Corinthians 3:3-4

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife. And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?
1 Corinthians 5:1-2

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough?
1 Corinthians 5:6

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.
1 Corinthians 6:7-8

For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.
2 Corinthians 12:20

Be patient. Don’t give up on Church. Don’t give up on fellow Christians. Persevere. Trust in Jesus and rely on Him to see you through the difficult times and moments you may encounter in your Church.

God bless you all.

  1. This is a really important message, especially for new believers. I attended two different churches that ended up being split because they did not follow the Biblical instructions this video touches upon.

Believers, we need to be real, honest, direct and loving with each other. Bearing with one another doesn’t mean silently walking away, just to avoid feeling uncomfortable. Call calls us to be different than the world. The church has no business behaving like a human organization. Christ is our Head. Obey Him and STAY IN THE WORD!
